Instruction for finding Us
From Dublin (N8) & Kilkenny, Roslare Port and Waterford (N25) directions:
Both the N 25 (from Waterford) an the N 8 (from Dublin) meet at a major inserstion just near Cork where, in turn, they meet with the N 28 (from Southwest Cork). At this junction you take the N 28 through The Jack Lynch (River Lee) Tunnel (westbound) to the first exit (R852). At this exit, turn right over overpass and onto the Lough Mahon area. Please note the Ring Mahon Shopping Centre on your right, and the Ring Mahon Retail Park on your left. Continue to the second X junction, with traffic lights, where you will see a road sign for Blackrock/Douglas. Turn left. Continue until the third set of traffic lights, and a T junction. Your landmark is the Chemist shop on your left. Turn right into Church Road. Continue to its end, and another T junction. Your landmark is the (Tapoz) Filling & Retail Station. Turn right (into Blackrock Road) and continue (one-third of a mile) to Blackrock Harbour village. Your landmark is The Pier Head Inn (a pub) with a Chinese Restaurant above it. At its gable end is where Castle Road begins. Drive up this road 4 metres approx, and Áras Tara B&B is on your right. Drive into the driveway to park.
Please note that the duration of this journey, from the N25/N 8/N28 intersection to the Áras Tara B&B, (Castle Road, Blackrock), is approx 10 minutes, traffic congestion permitted.
From Cork International Airport (and from Kinsale) N27:
Leaving Cork International Airport (car hire) you arrive at a roundabout linking the R600 (road to Kinsale) and the N 27 (road to the city). You take the first exit (towards Cork city N 27). You drive to the second set of traffic lights bringing you to a complex set of two junctions. On passing through these lights you arrive at an intersection - an overpass and a roundabout under it. This junction is known as The Kinsale Roundabout and it links the N 27 with the N 28 (South Ring Road). You take the 4rth exit off the roundabout which brings you on the eastward direction of the N28. Continue on this road system until you reach the R852 (marked Mahon, Blackrock) exit. On exiting on this slip road take a left onto Ring Mahon. Please note the Ring Mahon Shopping Centre, known as Mahon Point, is on your right, and the Ring Mahon Retail Park is on your left. Continue to the second x junction, with traffic lights, where you will see a road sign for Blackrock/Douglas. Turn left. Continue until the third set of traffic lights, and a T junction. Your landmark is the Chemist shop on your left. Turn right into Church Road. Continue to its end, and another T junction. Your landmark is the Tapoz Filling & Retail Station. Turn right (into Blackrock Road) and continue (one-third of a mile) to Blackrock Harbour village. Your landmark is The Pier Head Inn (a pub) and the Chines Restaurant above the pub. From Galway and Limerick and The West of Ireland including from Cork city centre to Blackrock:
Take the N 20 from Limerick to Cork city. On arriving in the city centre, you reach the Christy Ring Bridge, which you cross. Your landmark is the Cork Opera House. Turn left along Lavitts Quay (eastward), keeping the River Lee on your left. Pass through three sets of traffic lights, (along Lavitts Quay, Merchants Quay and Anderson's Quay), and prepare to turn right at the fourth set, a T junction. Your landmark is The Harbour Commissioners Office, (a majestic old grey building). Turn right into Custom House Street, drive over the Eamonn De Valera Bridge into Albert Street (N27). On crossing this bridge, turn left immediately, bringing you into Albert Quay East, and your landmark is Careys Tool Hire showroom. This Albert Quay East roadway is approx 100 metres in length, and turns right into Victoria Road. Take Victoria Road and continue straight on until you arrive at a roundabout - its landmark is a Retail Fuel Station. Pass around this first and only roundabout, taking its 2nd exit, and from here, (still Victoria Road), it brings you to The Old Blackrock Road (note your landmark Ashton School just after the first set of traffic lights). Continue on this road for 2 kilometres. You will pass through a small 'village', called Ballintemple, and your landmark is the first pub you see, known as The Venue. From Ballintemple the same road now becomes Blackrock Road. Continue straight on passing your next landmark, a Tapoz Filling & Retail Station, and continue (one-third of a mile) to Blackrock Harbour village. Your landmark is The Pier Head Inn (a pub), with a Chinese Restaurant above it. At its gable end is where Castle Road begins. Drive up this road 4 metres approx, and Áras Tara B&B is on your right. Drive into the driveway to park.

From West Cork, and from Kerry (Killarney, Tralee, An Daingean/Dingle):
Travelling from West Cork (Muskerry, Macroom), and Kerry take the N 22 eastward direction to Cork. On the west suburbs of Cork city you enter a dual carriageway road system. Continue on this road system (N28) until you reach the R852 (marked Mahon, Blackrock) exit. On exiting on this slip road take a left onto Ring Mahon. Please note the Ring Mahon Shopping Centre, known as Mahon Point, is on your right, and the Ring Mahon Retail Park is on your left. Continue to the second x junction, with traffic lights, where you will see a road sign for Blackrock/Douglas. Turn left. Continue until the third set of traffic lights, and a T junction. Your landmark is the Chemist Shop on your left. Turn right into Church Road. Continue to its end, and another T junction. Your landmark is a Tapoz Filling & Retail Station. From South West Cork - Bantry, Schull, Clonakilty:
Travelling from South West Cork on a variety of routes, including Clonakilty, Bandon (N71), you arrive at a roundabout called The Bandon Roundabout where the N 71 meets the N28, The South link Road. You take the third exit on the roundabout (turning right) onto the N 28 - eastward. Continue on this road system until you reach the R852 (marked Mahon, Blackrock) exit. On exiting on this slip road take a left onto Ring Mahon. Please note the Ring Mahon Shopping Centre, known as Mahon Point, is on your right, and the Ring Mahon Retail Park is on your left. Continue to the second x junction with traffic lights, where you will see a road sign for Blackrock/Douglas. Turn left. Continue until the third set of traffic lights, and a T junction. From Ringaskiddy Ferry Port:
On leaving the ferry, take the N 28 towards Cork city. At 2nd roundabout take the 2nd exit (as to turn right). Continue on N 28. Three kilometres later you enter an intersection. Keep right to access the N 28 Eastbound - direction Dublin/Waterford/Jack Lynch Tunnel. On completing this manouvre, take first exit, R852, direction Mahon/Blackrock. On exiting on this slip road take a left onto Lough Mahon. Please note the Lough Mahon Shopping Centre on your left, and the Lough Mahon Retail Park on your right. Continue to the second x junction with traffic lights, where you will see a road sign for Blackrock/Douglas. Turn left. Continue until third set of traffic lights, and a T junction. Your landmark is Chemist Shop on your left. Turn right into Church Road. Continue to its end, and another T junction. Your landmark is a Topaz Filling & Retail Station. Turn right (into Blackrock Road) and continue (one-third of a mile) to Blackrock Harbour village. Your landmark is The Pier Head Inn (a pub), with a Chinese Restaurant above it. At its gable end is where Castle Road begins. Drive up this road 4 metres approx, and Áras Tara B&B is on your right. Drive into the driveway to park.
